An ongoing project of Beth's since February 2013---initially Beth McKenna Quintet prior to the departure of Kyla Campbell on her return to British Colombia.

Beth McKenna Quartet is one of Beth's main focuses at this point in her career, with close friends and musical partners in crime Guillaume Martineau (piano) and Peter Colantonio (drums) and have included performances with bassist Olivier Babaz.

The music covered by the quartet in 2013 was Beth's "514 Project", a set of 15 compositions of Beth's, written as musical interpretations of various people, places and experiences Beth has had through her five years of living in Montreal. The pieces were written to as a jazz genre-outreach and audience-outreach project, to write music that combined aspects of pop, rock, fusion and contemporary/classical music together in jazz with sections of improvisation and limitless possibilities.

Beth's newer music, written in 2014 and later draws in from an increased number of influences, including inspiration from Snarky Puppy, Christine Jensen, Maria Schneider, Brad Mehldau, Ben Monder, David Binney, Donny McCaslin, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker among many others. She continues to record and perform music, and soon hopes to launch an EP of original compositions and expanding the project further.

Upcoming Performances:

October 23rd, 2014 - Diese Onze Jazz Club

November 20th, 2014 - Bleury Bar a Vinyle
